It's early on in the new year and time to start pottering about at the allotment, even if frost prevents us from doing too much digging or planting activity at the moment. Daz is on a bed extending mission and has been up a fair bit during the winter, which to my shame, I haven't. He's chopped the hedge right back on the side that borders our neighbour Margaret, such that we get a bit more sun over there.
We were up a fortnight ago and burned around 1/3 of the pile of privet that has built up. I'm off up there early this morning to begin burning again before people decide to put washing out on the line. I'm hoping that I can almost get shot of the whole pile.
