The sun

I've been watching what the sun does over the past couple of days. Of course, that's when the sun isn't obscured by cloud, which at the moment isn't too often. Basically as far as I can work out, looking from the shed towards the house the garden lies in a South-South-East alignment. This does cause a slight issue, in that the house (and in fact the whole terrace, casts a shadow across most of the garden. This is especially prominent during the day and does somewhat throughout the afternoon. This is during September, so perhaps will not be so pronounced during the summer. I think I will have to aim to start growing from the very far end of the garden and will just have to see what happens.
