Bolting

The bizarre weather that we've had recently has caused a number of things to bolt -various salad leaves, including rocket that suddenly shot 3 foot high stalks up in the space of a couple of days. I pulled most of this up the other day (and made a fine pesto with the leaves). We've also got tiny Pak Choi that looks to have bolted, so that is getting harvested this evening.

Ho Hum, we live and learn.

The greenhouse blew down for a second time so we are giving up on it for this year. We've also worked out that we are going to have to work hard on the drainage of the beds. I think the biggest wins will be raising the soil level and getting some green manure grown and dug in to get some organic matter into the soil.
